Books



We have had a wonderful time writing three books (so far!). Since our writing styles are so different, we were afraid that writing the first book might be the end of our friendship. We made a pact that if either one of us felt like we were in trouble, it would be the end of book writing. No questions asked. Our friendship was too important to lose over disagreements while writing. Instead, we found that writing has strengthened our bond. We approach each chapter by individually writing what we think should be covered on that particular subject. When we get together, we are amazed at the different topics we have covered. We then "moosh" our ideas together and go on to the next chapter. Donna is the editor and typist, Patricia does all the illustrations.

Incidentally, Patricia and Donna each have quilts in several other publications. Patricia's bird bath quilt, "Drink the Living Water," and Donna's floral vase, "Summer's Song" are part of the 20th Anniversary Book by That Patchwork Place, Inc., Celebrating the Quilt. Instructions are given for making both quilts. Recently, That Patchwork Place, Inc. released two books of postcards. Donna's Round Robin quilt, "McSlusser's Garden," is found in Traditional Quilts, A Book of Postcards, along with 14 other quilts. Patricia's watercolor quilt, "Morning Glory," is one of the 15 quilts that make up Contemporary Quilts, A Book of Postcards.
