Quilts by Shirley Farrington

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your new book, Fun Photo-Quilts & Crafts. As I had your first book, Creating Scrapbook Quilts, I was really excited about receiving your new one. I enjoy not only the ideas from your books but also the sense of humor you add to all you do. Laughter is much needed in all our lives today.

I made this memory quilt for my husband. He is an oceanographer. I chose Storm At Sea as his first oceanographic cruise while a graduate student was interrupted by a hurricane! It is a two sided quilt with a Mariner's Compass on the back. I put photos of the ships he has been on, plus patches from the three colleges he attended on the back too.

This wall hanging was made for a friend for her long awaited child.

I made this pillow for Brandon, the son of my friend Deborah.

This pillow was made for my daughter's friend from college.

My friends enjoy the pillows that I make for them for their rooms at the nursing homes. Each of the people in this photo received a pillow like this.

This is a wedding quilt for my friends.
