Weekly Readings in Computer Confluence

Students should review all readings prior to attending class. Students are expected to know/understand all key terms at the end of each chapter and be able to define each term in the student's own words. A good aid for a student to test his/her knowledge are the self tests for each chapter that can be found on the CD-ROM which accompanies the textbook.

Weekly Article Synopsis

Students are expected to read one current computer related article from a newspaper, a magazine, or an online source each week. A well crafted page, written in the student's own words, summarizing the article must be turned in to the instructor at the start of each class. Please see specifications for article synopsis for more information.

Hands-On Work

In the hands-on portion of the class, each student will be working on assignments from Office XP - Volume 1. In addition to classroom work, students will also have a weekly assignment to be completed outside of the class.

Students must come to class prepared. This means that each student must have a copy of the files that are needed for the exercises that will be done in the class. Students not prepared for class will be asked to leave the class until they are prepared.

Please check this page each week for an updated list of the files needed for the hands-on portion of each class.
