If you haven't already, please read Part 4 before beginning Part 5
You'll also need all of the large 6 1/2" square half-square triangle units which you just made during Part 4 of this series.
Sew 24 (40) [60] of the large half-square triangle units to 24 of the Dark #2 rectangles so they look like this:

Next, add your remaining large half-square triangle units to the other side of your Dark #2 rectangle units so they look like this:
Notice that the half-square triangle unit has changed directions!! |
Jessica Four-Patch recommends that you check your diagram frequently to be sure your units are laid out correctly. After all, as the Inspector sometimes says, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of seam-ripping!"
Again, press the seam allowance toward your large half-square triangle units. You should now have a total of 24 (40) [60] of these units.
