Jessica Fourpatch's Case #113

Join Jessica FourPatch for another romp into the unknown (for awhile, that is!) as you make this jazzy quilt top in your choice of three different sizes. It will keep you busy, but bar none - you'll have a great quilt top to show for it!

Part 5

Go back and find your Dark #2 rectangles (4 1/2" x 6 1/2") which you cut during Part 1 of this series.

You'll also need all of the large 6 1/2" square half-square triangle units which you just made during Part 4 of this series.

Sew 24 (40) [60] of the large half-square triangle units to 24 of the Dark #2 rectangles so they look like this:

Press the seam allowance toward the large half-square triangle units.

Next, add your remaining large half-square triangle units to the other side of your Dark #2 rectangle units so they look like this:

Notice that the half-square triangle unit has changed directions!!

Jessica Four-Patch recommends that you check your diagram frequently to be sure your units are laid out correctly. After all, as the Inspector sometimes says, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of seam-ripping!"

Again, press the seam allowance toward your large half-square triangle units. You should now have a total of 24 (40) [60] of these units.
