Subject: New girl on the block
For any FWF in the Pomona area of California, there is a new shop on 2nd
Street (Antique Row) in Pomona. They have several machines on sale, but purists
might be disturbed by those painted in nonstandard colors. The ladies in this
shop love our little machines, and sell accessories, some hard to find. At
least there is a place now near home where I could buy a bobbin case, original
or new, if I needed one. The name of the shop is The Little Red 222. It is at
139 E 2nd Street in Pomona, and worth the trip.

They had to have used a hacksaw to get the motor mounted on that
thing....The ad claims to be a rare Red featherweight.....I may be wrong,
but I don't think Singer ever made a Red featherweight.

The problem with re-painted machines is highlighted by the red one
currently on sale on Ebay. Lots of chat about how rare red machines
are, astronomic suggestions of worth, comment about how the decals
are intact (they should be, they're brand new) and not a word about
the cheap and nasty non-Featherweight replacement motor that's been
stuck on the rear.

Subject: Dating a 301A, second try
Hi gang,
The closest Singer could come to dating my 301A was 1953-1959. I was
wondering if Graham's list or anyone's could give me a closer list? The serial #
isNB097670. Thanks! Mindy

in really good condition. It is truly beautiful and in perfect working
order but I cannot find anything about the company Atlas at all!! Do
you know anything about this company? Thank you much-Nicki Bie

I recently purchased a reprint of the original instruction book from
221parts and it looks and feels like the original. It is just great to
know how to oil my little Helen properly now and I even put a lot of
grease in the motor little hole things. Now she just hums along. =20

Subject: Electrical cords
Date: Thu, 29 Jan 2004 11:14:52 -0800
This may have been discussed before but I missed it. I noticed that the
black covering of the cords on the foot control/machine are drying out
and a few almost cracks appear. The connection at the plug that goes
into the FW has a definite separation from the covering.not bad but it
is visible. Does this mean I should have the cords rewired? No trouble
with the connection and everything runs beautifully. Maybe, leave it
alone?.....OR?
Thanks for the help as always. So great!
