Subject: new to quilting

I am new to quilting and recently bought a Featherweight 201. It didn't
come with a 1/4 inch foot so I want to buy one. I have seen two
different types-a plastic foot (called Fashion 1/4" Quilting
Foot-#P60307 by Alphasew) and a metal foot (called a 1/4" Patchwork Foot
-#P60600-G also by Alphasew). Which is the best? Or is each good but
for different things?

Right now I am trying to make a quilt with lots of 4"squares but plan to
do all sorts of different things.

Thanks for your help.

Subject: Feed dogs on 221 - Help please!
Date: Sat, 21 Feb 2004 12:18:55 +0000

My husband has just bought me a 221 from a local auction. It is in
wonderful condition but unfortunately has no manual. I was disappointed
when trying to sew as the feed dogs are lowered. Please can you tell me how
to adjust these. I would be very grateful.

When I have sorted it all out, I'll complete your survey. What a good idea
- keep up the good work.

Julia Feise

i'm pleased to recommend my friend to anyone who is interested. she is an
internet-based business after deciding that the overhead savings would be
better passed along to her customers. so she now does her selling in her
pajamas, doesn't have to be at the shop 7 days a week, and is always
willing to help with special requests.

Subject: osmg in oregon/bobbin case

i'm catching up on FWF digests for the past month and figured i'd start at
the newest and work backwards. amazing how easy it is to fall behind so
quickly, i hope i haven't missed anything really good.

i've kept a list of OSMGs recommended by people on this list. for oregon:
Joe Carson who works on the little beauties in the Portland area. He is
located inVancouver, WA across the Columbia River from Portland. His email
Address is: joenbarb@pacifier.com Carson's Classic Sewing Center in
Vancouver, WA.

>The machine is stuck. I think there may be thread stuck in the bobbin
case. Any ideas? Can I take the bobbin case apart?
>Sharon
yes, you can take the bobbin case out by following the excellent
instructions in nancy johnson-srebro's book "featherweight 221- the perfect
portable"
