Hi;
Does anyone have the instructions to give with a Quilt on how to care for it
,,when you are giving it as a gift.
I have them somewhere but can not find them this morning,,and I need to
get a Quilt ready to mail today.

Hi everyone:
I presume most FWers saw this high price FW on Ebay. I don't always
follow Ebay but this was interesting! It is Item No. 3269819958 and
ended beginning of Feb but it's still listed. At least I think $3800 is
a lot of money!!

For Julie Wiesner, Believe it or not I own 9 Featherweights and i wax them
with McGuires liquid car polish that you can purchase at walmart etc, for
around 9.00 in a black bottle. I usually use a very soft cloth and apply the wax,
let it sit for about half an hour , then use a very soft clean cloth to buff
the whole machine to a high gloss shine. My husband always knows when I aquire
another featherweight when he sees me waxing it on the kitchen table! The
liquid polish is non abrasive to the decals and usually brightens them up a little.
good luck and enjoy! Wait till you see what a jewel it will look like when
your done! kim halverson or kimkwilts@aol.com

Hi All
Sharon if your FW is stuck with thread in the bobbin area try rocking the
handwheel gently in a clockwise direction before you dismantle anything, it might
release.

Hi All
Barbara asked if there was a good FW repair person in the Portland area.
Well, Barbara if you feed me for a week I could be enticed over from England with
a screwdriver and cloth.

Hi Fellow Onions
I had a bit of a shock today.
What do you do when a man you have know for many years opens the front door
to you in a dress!
You can guess what I did, spluttered, choked, sneezed and pretended I had
swallowed a fly.
I had called on a customer that I have been to many times over the years. You
could describe him as the typical old English gent. He is about seventy years
old and always smartly dressed when I come to repair his old Singer 201k.
Today he was wearing a fetching dress decorated in spring flowers! After I
had calmed down with a glass of water I serviced his machine. He acted as if it
were quite normal, never mentioned a word about his attire. I just could not
help peeking at him when his back was turned, the dress fitted really well.
How about that for a start to a working day.
Bye for now.

To Julie who asked

>(decals look great, enamel no pin hazing but several small "chipped"

Simply watch those pins and zips and try to develop a light hand when
holding down the fabric.
To Top cat re oil can
Your FW should have an oval can -- spout in the center of the top if
a US model, offset if a UK built one.

Your machine was one of a batch of 50,000 commissioned at the NJ
factory on October 26, 1950.

Anyone any idea what this is about?
