Subject: Using my Featherweight

Hi-
I'm mostly a lurker--really enjoy all the info.
I've been using my featherweight a lot recently, and am getting worried
about how to keep the decals and enamel looking as good as they do now
(decals look great, enamel no pin hazing but several small "chipped"
places). Any advice on using the machine but keeping it looking good?
Thank you,
Julie Wiesler

I was pretty distressed by the thought of missing a deal til I looked
the machines over. If there was a Bernina in the bunch, I didn't spot
it. Perhaps they were Bernettes. When we closed our store, we dumped
several truck loads of machines just like these. Did see several
Slantomatics and Elnas, though, that were worth saving.

Best deal I ever got in 30+ years in the business was 18 Featherweights,
12 99s, 3 nice treadles, some 15s and 201s, 3 toys, and boxes of books
and parts, all for $2200.00. And, the gentleman brought them to me!

I've just listed a very rare complete accessory set and book for Singer
411. Also suitable for the 431G, etc. And a complete Slantomatic
accessory set. Vintage Sewing Machines and Parts.

There's an accessory sales section on the site too but you might well
be able to source these cheaper locally.

Dear Fanatics,

My singer is not on the database but was purchased in New Jersey. The
most interesting story is I was looking for a featherweight for almost 7
months (I couldn't afford one). My mother-in-law had a treandall and I
was going to bring that back with me when we visited for christmas.
Durring my visit I noticed a black box and thought could it be?
Unbelievable my mother-in-law at that exact time was showing her son
another treandell as I approached the black box my heart had began to
race mind you they are both in the otherside of the garage. I opened the
box and their it was a 1950 comerative featherweight machine. AJ911176
series in perfect to near perfect condition. I pondered how to tell my
mother-in-law what I found but I with shaking hands came out with it and
told her she could make money if she wanted to sell it. Instead she gave
it to me instead of the treandill and said I could do or sale it if I
wanted but I am just in awe by this devine intervention. Who would have
thunk my good fortune and to my strange turn of events. True story!

Dear Sir,

I have seen through your informative information the difference between
the real Mccoy and fake's and I am very surpirsed that you would by from
a man named bill on ebay and give him great praise when I have seen his
goods and know he's nothing more then a shister. Can you tell me why you
would by from such a low life?

The machine is stuck. I think there may be thread stuck in the bobbin
case. Any ideas? Can I take the bobbin case apart?

I have an old Portable(?)sewing machine. It was given to me by someone
whose mother died and no one in the family sews.I question Portable
because it is so heavy I can't lift it.
The only name I can find is "Dressmaker" printed on the lower right
portion of the machine. There is no name on the instruction book. Does
any one have any idea what it is?=20
