FYI (slightly off topic)

Hello everyone, Haven't posted in a while. Moved back to Alaska from a year
in Oregon and I am still getting settled in. I will be visiting my daughter
that attends college in Siloam Springs, Arkansas and was wondering if any of
you know where I might find thrift shops, second hand stores, fabric shops,
etc. in that area. I have already contacted Gerald Holmes who isn't too
far from there and will try to connect with his schedule. I have a large
collection (almost 50 sewing machines (mostly Singer) - 3 of which are
FW's). I will be there for 2 weeks in the beginning of March. I will have
lots of time during the first week while my daughter is in school. If there
is anybody on the list who lives close by and is interested in connecting
for some shopping and sewing machine chatting drop me a line - off list -
and maybe we could connect. Looking forward to hearing from you. Janet

I am looking for the green/white case for the "white" machine made in Scotland
around 1964. Are these available anywhere?

Thanks,

would be very helpful. I can't figure it out ,of course i don't know much
about sewing machines anyway. Any help would be wonderful.

Subject: Thanks Fluffies

Hi Fluffies,
Thanks for all the wonderful information. When I was wearing miniskirts all I
was sewing was kids clothes, so I missed out on learning about the Naugas. I
tried the oil trick, and have a roller foot, will try that on the next one. I
lengthened the stitch, loosened the upper tension a little, and my darling
machine came through like a champion. With a denim needle I sewed though four
layers of Nauga. Thank you to all you special Fluffies on this list. I am so glad
I belong to this helping, sharing, and giving list.

OK folks does every one agree with this or is there any way to speed up a
201?

A good, loose 201 running correctly should sew about 1200-1400 spm.
There simply is not much that can be practically done to increase this.

I recently purchased a 1950 Featherweight at auction. It came with the
original tube of oil. Can I use my Singer oil on it? The original oil
is like a salve.

I had a friend send me this link and just had to share it with all of
you. This quilt has all the faces of the people who died at the World
Trade Center, made by Lois Jarvis of Madison, Wisconsin. Please take a
look.
