Sue's Crochet Passion Page

While I have alot of different interests, crocheting is the craft that I have been doing the longest. I've even started teaching crochet classes at my local Adult Ed department. While I don't get too much time to work on my crochet pages, here's a few of my completed projects. I hope to add some of my patterns that I use in my classes sometime in the future.

Afghans

My Christmas Afghan

Completed December 1997

Done with Caron's Victorian Chrismas Gold, this is one of my favorite's, something I did just for me. The pattern is from Crochet World magazine and was shown as a 4th of July afghan. Several close-ups of the afghan shown below.

Greg's Afghan

Done for my friend, Greg, for Christmas
Completed August 1999

Pattern is the Groovy Granny from Herrschner's Blue Ribbon Afghans, done in more "masculine" colors. This is a pretty large afghan and easily covers my full size bed. Click on the image for a larger version of the photo.

Marty loves his Uncle Greg's afghan. Click on the image for a larger photo.

I've made many more afghans then I've shown here, but many have been given away or have yet to be photographed. You can see some of my other afghans on my charity page

You can really see the lower border of the afghan in this picture.

Noah's Ark

Work in Process

Here a picture of my Noah's Ark afghan. I used a machine knitting pattern and changed it around to suit the size of the afghan that I wanted to make. After sewing in 4-5 ends, I decided to make this a reversible afghan and am currently working on a striped afghan to back this one. I hope to enter this in the Family Circle 2000 afghan contest

I like to think of my MoEZ hooks as afghan hooks on steroids. They're really wonderful for making afghans quickly, but without the large holes that you get w/ regular larger hooks. For more information about ordering these hooks please visit:

Crochet Along Projects

Crochet Along is a group of crocheters who like to work together on different projects designed by the Crochet Along leader, Priscilla Hewett. For more information on Crochet Along and the Crochet Along e-mail list, please visit http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/lffunt/crochetalong.htm

Aran Afghan

Here's my first Crochet Along Project, a beautiful aran afghan made with Red Heart Chunky. I completed this in March of 2000.

There are four different pattern sections in this afghan.

Close up of "stout fringe". I've never been a fan of fringe, but I really love this type. It's worth the extra work.
