Dear BB Angels,
I am sorry I haven't been able to answer emails and haven't been able to post to this board. My server hasn't been allowing me to get a connection. I haven't read the BB for several days. I know I am behind on what's happening. I am sorry I haven't been able to take care of the Prayer requests to the Prayer Circle. I hope to get caught up soon.
My DD,DSIL and DGD are leaving Wednesday morning for Germany. We will see them on Tuesday night because they don't want to say goodbye at the airport.
Tracy will be seeing Ridgeley as soon as possible and will be there to help her with the packing out and out-processing. Ridgeley was glad to have this offer of help because she dreads going back into the apartment after she returns from burying Kevin. I have relayed messages to her and told her of the plans of the BB Angels to send blocks and do something tangible that will give her comfort. She appreciates everyone's concern and prayers and love. I talked to her the night of May 5th for 1 1/2 hours. Last night my DH and I spoke with her for 2 hours. She promises to keep in touch with me wherever she goes and let me know how I can get in touch with her. I am making hard copies of all the posts and emails with messages of love for her and the children.
Please keep them in continual prayer. Thank you, to all of the BB Angels, for reaching out to Ridgeley at this time. This is the best bunch of people I have ever known. I know God must love us and be pleased with us. He has certainly blessed me through all the BB Angels. In these times, I find this BB to be something very special. I can see God in this place.
Take care and may God bless you and yours!
Love, >^..^< Kitty Kate in WA >^..^<

It has all been said and said well, but I wanted to add
my thoughts and love for Ridgeley and her family. Been
thinking about them all day. Will keep you all in my
prayers. An aunt sent me the following poem when my
Mom died - maybe it will help a little.

You bid no one a last farewell
Or never said goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why.

A million times we needed you
A million times we cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.

In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our heart, you hold a place,
No one could ever fill.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.

Love and prayers, Just me, Sue

Ridgeley,

I can't explain the pain in my stomach and heart when I read the BB this morning and then the morning newspaper. I am so sorry......Wish we could be there for you and the little ones. You know we will all be here for you and would help in any way possible. When my daughter lost her dad last year, I told her I knew how she felt. She said I didn't, because I had my dad for 40 yrs. She only had hers for 20. There's nothing I could say then and there's nothing I can say now to you to ease the pain. Just know that you and the kids are in our thoughts daily!!

I just got off the phone from talking to Ridgely and she asked if I would post a message on the BB for her. She thanked everyone for their concern and sympathy and also wanted everyone to know it would be a while before she's up to posting again but that she would when things are more settled.

This part is from me: Because of the military regulations that mandate time periods for finalizing affairs after the death of an active duty member, Ridgely has a lot of important decisions and plans to make, decisions and plans that will affect the rest of her family's lives, while she's reeling from the blow of losing Kevin. Please continue to keep her and the kids in your prayers as they struggle through this devastating loss.

Thank you all for the prayers and messages of support that i got from all of you. DH is home, but down for a good while. The Dr. said his heart attack was mild, more of a warning, resulting from damage done to his heart 3 yrs. ago when he had Rocky Mtn. Spotted Fever and Lymes Disease at the same time when we lived in SC Seems that even though he had to undergo 3 sets of treatment it left a lot of problems because of not taking the proper care and resting at that time. DGD had been in a car accident and both parents were at the hospital most of the time. Tim helped me take care of the other Grand children (3) and mowing their lawn, ours and the SIL's mother and GM yards. They relied on us to do everything, and then later we were treated like dirt. Oh well, no one can hurt us more than our kids, right?
Tim has to go thru a whole bunch of testing and maybe even a pacemaker, but with continued prayers from you all, and strength from the Lord we will get through this too.
DH pulse went down to 37 for over 3 hrs. His heart does not get the oxygen it needs, therefor the chest pain, ect.
Got our new 'puter and now have my own e-mail instead of using his (thollob@netxn.com)
This is the first chance i've had to update all of you on his condition since the night i logged on and found this new site on the BB, and asked for your prayers and support. Please keep us both in your prayers as all of you are in ours.
Thank you again, Shirley in sunny Bakersfield, CA

It's difficult to say good-bye,
When someone we love dies,
To know we'll miss the laughter
And the love found in their eyes.
Yet much emptiness and heartache,
Much loneliness and sorrow,
Will be eased by cherished memories
Living on in us tomorrow.

May your sorrow be less and your

Dearest Ridgeley,

My deepest, extended sympathies to you and your family for the loss of your beloved husband Kevin. Everytime I heard the words "Apache Helicopters" on the news I would think of you and Kevin and say a prayer for his safety.
I know that nothing I could ever put into words will even begin to fill the hole in your heart, but the least it can do is show that we are grieving with you in your loss and offer you any comfort that we can. HHHMMMM. . . after sending in my posting I opened this in my e-mail, and I want to share it in case it helps someone else, too. It's "funny" how life is. . . .

God's Boxes of Love taken from the Columbine Memorial.......

I have in my hands two boxes
Which God gave me to hold
He said, Put all your sorrows in the black,
And all your joys in the gold.
I heeded His words, and in the two boxes
Both my joys and sorrows I store
But though the gold became heavier each day
The black was as light as before
With curiosity, I opened the black
I wanted to find out why
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole
Which my sorrows had fallen out by
I showed the hole to God, and mused aloud,
I wonder where my sorrows could be.
He smiled a gentle smile at me.
My child, they're all here with me.
I asked, God, why give me the boxes,
Why the gold, and the black with the hole?
My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
the black is for you to let go.

>>We should consider all of our friends a blessing. Send this to a
friend today just to let them know that you are thinking of them and that they are a joy in your life.

Dear Ridgeley,
My heart is breaking for you and your family right now. I too tragically lost a great love in my life at age 27 in one short instant. It's so hard to accept how one short moment can change our lives forever. As much as we think we have some semblance of control over the course of our lives, we really don't. I will be praying for you and your family. Grieve in your own way for as long as it takes, and draw upon the strength of friends and family that truly understand. It's too hard for you to realize right now, but you will discover that there is a strength in you that you never knew was there. You will never "get over" this, but life will eventually be sweet again. Hang onto that hope.

Dear kind friends,
I just heard the news of Kevin's death on MSNBC. I am so devastated. I had emailed Ridgeley several times to let her know that we were praying for her husband and for her at out little Methodist church in North Carolina. The preacher always asks for names of specific people and I had this past Sunday again called out the name of Kevin and Ridgeley. I can hardly believe this. My preacher wants to have a memorial service or something at our church. My preacher left the Army as a chaplain about two years ago, so he has very close ties with lots of military folks.
We want to have a home mailing address or phone number. Can we get that information from someone? If you have it, please email me privately and I will give you my phone number.

Hi All!

I wanted to keep everyone posted on my friend's comfort quilt, but so far it's a little slow. I've got about nine blocks just about finished and am anxiously awaiting squishies. I can't wait to see what we'll put together, and will be thrilled to take pictures for everyone to see.

I'm glad to hear most of our Oklahoma and Kansas quilters are o.k. I'm worried about my family in the area, but I'm hoping that being able to leave a message means there's a house left to hold the machine!

Take care,

Veronica

Good morning ladies! Its sunny, and supposed to hit 68 today! Yea!
Would like you to include two people in your prayers today.
My neighbor has a virus that attacked his liver. They say it probably
happened 25 years ago. #1 is a healthy liver, #5 is Cirrhosis of the liver (or
so I understand). He's at #4. He's currently taking shots 3 times a week, and
will find out in a month or so whether they're working or not. If not, then he'll have
about 5 years. This gentleman has a 12 year old son that he's had sole custody of
since the boy was 4. His Father passed away a couple months ago... so life is a little
rough right now. His DS is taking it pretty hard. They are so close its really neat to
see these days. He probably wouldn't have found out about his condition if he hadn't had
a really thorough blood test at a recent physical. Thank God his Doctor was paying attention!

The other prayer would be for a close relative. He is separated from his family...and is
trying to find himself. I want the Lord to show him the way. He used to be a wonderful
Altar Boy, but has since fallen away from the Church. Please pray that he realizes the Lord
has never left him, and that he CAN regain his life.

TIA

No time to read this morning, but time to pray always! I am keeping all who have touched by the weather problems in my prayers, let us know how we can help by doing also. I was also saddened when I heard about the second down apache in the balkans, I pray that the pilot is found safe and alive. Be comforted by the thought that many of us are out here thinking and praying for all of you. Lynn inTX

I am so glad that so many of the BB are alright, We've been watching Cnn for part of the day yesterday and can not in my wildest imagination conjure up the devastation that is in the area.
My heart and prayers go to all ,to those who lost loved ones and also to those who lost so much of their lives dreams

My heart goes out to all of you in the path of the storm yourselves or worried about loved ones. We have been watching the news and the damage seems enormous. I keep thinking about the irreplacable items lost, photos, letters, quilts, things that make up the pieces of our lives. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
I've been reading the BB for about a week and am constantly reminded that all of us are fighting one battle or another, and just trying to live our lives the best we can. God's Blessings to all.

"Our internet is down please tell everyone i am fine, the city is a nightmare
more dead being found, very devastating tornado was so scary. lots of friends

but so so sad. It looks like its going to be one of those springs, where we

Hi all,

I have been meeting with a group of friends for over 25
years for chit chat, book studying, laughter and it always includes a prayer circle at end of evening. So
please know you will all be especially prayed for this Friday
and we have surely seen Miracles happen in this group.
Marie - It is so true that when two or more gather in his
name, he will be with us.
God is so wonderful and surprises us with so many blessings. And I will
pray that he showers all those who need his peace, health, strength
and joy. Many hugs to all. I will be in Atlanta for a week
starting Saturday, but will be back to catch up. Oh, brother, I better

I, too, am glad our bbers are safe, wondered about Doni all night. The storms stopped short of here except for lots of lightening and thunder which have continued all day today. We are still under tornado watch all afternoon. It gets really really dark, then lightens up with severe lightening etc. But, there is a preacher here who is predicting a tornado for Thursday at 9:00 p.m.. . .he claims is a message from God unless everyone repents. And he has a specific path all through our city and surrounding area this storm will follow which would wipe out my neighborhood completely. Scary stuff. And that's National Day of Prayer, too.

Please remember ds and us tomorrow when we make our last appeal against his expulsion. There is a whole ladder of appeals we can make, but we are choosing to make this one big stand with our attorney then let it go either way. We're more concerned with the lawsuit since as an honor student, he is all right in the credit area. THis is still a nightmarish situation. Thanks,

I have lived through a devastating tornado and know the fear that we are all feeling. My thoughts and heart are with everyone today. Thank-you to the BB for developing such a support system and a way for all of us to know and share the lives - the ups and downs - of each other.

I am glad to hear that everyone is alright in the aftermath of the tornadoes. I hope everyone else is also doing well today.

Subject: Prayer to stop the Violence
E-mail Address: Bigmamaf@hotmail.com

Good Morning, This is my first day reading this page and I feel Blessed. It is wonderful to see so many people reaching out to one another. There were so many prayer request but three touched my heart and I will pray daily for Barbara's husband, little Ryan who's three and the little premie.

I would like to ask that you pray to stop the violence that is tearing our schools apart. At my daughter's school there were two attempts to set fires last month. Then there was a bomb threat.
I came home one night and she was in shock because of the terrible shooting incident.

She was afraid to go to school. Just yesterday they cleared out the elementary schools in Wallkill because of a bomb threat.

I believe that these things are the work of the enemy. What good is it if we get what God has for us and our children are left, lost, in the wilderness. I ask each of you to pray for the children.

God has given us dominion and we each have the authority to banish what is trying to destroy our children.

Also pray for the parents of these children who need to ask God for guidance.

I am not a preacher nor do I profess any great knowledge. God has put this on my heart.

On Fridays at 10 am est I will be praying and I would ask anyone else who is able to. To pray with me.

May God Bless you.

Doni, I am glad you could touch bases with all the BBers in KS and OK and let us know they have escaped injury and death. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in that area of the country affected by the storms. Such horrible power in these storms....
Also, I am horrified that anyone would take "pot-shots" at Buford, and especially with the kids nearby....I can hardly believe that anyone with anything resembling a brain (and with anything resembling a heart) would do such an awful thing.
May God keep all of you safe from harm.

Very slight possibility of cancer. Dear God I hope not! At twenty she had to have a complete hysterectomy for fibroids.

I like to quilt in my (spare ? time) off hours. my husband is not able to work anymore. He is a heart patient and has a lot of back problems. Deteriatin nerves.
We love the Lord, and trust him for all of our help. we have 9 children, 17 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren, and another in the oven.
Don't get much time to spare. but like to come to the computer to talk in the eve. after a hard day at work.
Also enjoy the quilting and learning new ways of putting them together quick.
Keep us in your prayers. My husband is from a large family and all of the children are still alive. I lost the last member of my birth family last year. Never knew a person could be so lonely and still be with people
I'll say bye for now. Thanks for listening.

Doni's neighbor shot Buford. The bullet just grazed his back and he is okay. This is a traumatic thing in a young dog's life. They don't fully mature until they are 2 yo. Doni's children were playing with Buford and where in the same vicinity as him. The neighbor could have shot one of the little ones. I am outraged that he wasn't arrested immediately. while on Saturday afternoon. I saw her Sunday afternoon again and color is really good now and she
is even fixing her own lunch she told me. She took a shower by herself Saturday night, but her
daughter was in the room close by. Her chest still hurts from the burns she received when they
zapped her...don't know what else to call it. She puts vitamin E oil on it that helps a little. She goes to
her heart doctor here in Burlington tomorrow for a check-up.
Praise God.
DH had his cardia catheterization today. Just as they were going to start the procedure an
emergency case came in so he got bumped back until 10:30. Got there at 7:00 a.m. The procedure
showed John's arteries are clear!!! So no further procedures there. Still don't know what causes the
shortness of breath and extreem weakness every once in a while. Expect it is his lungs. He says he
can live with that (???) as long as knows his heart is strong and no stoppage.
I haven't read my Mail yet, wanted to come for a report and have now discovered ANOTHER new

Hi All!

I'm back! Sorry to post and then run away for the weekend. I promise to get a computer just as soon as my bank book can stand it, but until then I'll have to rely on the one here at work.

I've been responding to every one who's e-mailed me individually and let them know about the blocks and have my snail addy. I sure hope I remembered to include it in every message, but knowing me I managed to prattle on and leave it out on somebody's. Just mail me with a swift kick if I did, though Kitty Kate has it as well now. I knew we were all a bunch of sweeties on this board, but now I have absolute proof. I couldn't believe the number of people responding to my post! Scott and his son will be truly comforted to see how many people are rooting for them. At a time like this, with such a small family left, every friend counts. Thank you all so very much.

I'm going to put the blocks together and then have it machine quilted. I'm a rank begginner at machine quilting so I think that's the best way to go! I'll be sure to take pictures when it's finished and send them to Kellie for us all to see, if she wouldn't mind. Well, I'm off to the memorial service this evening.

Thanks again to all you angels,

Keeping everyone in my prayers....I do check in and read this and send up my prayers. I'll say a praise that I have nothing major to post a prayer request for, which is what made me think of suggesting that people occasionally post a praise too! There are lots of awful things happening in the world, lots of illnesses too, and our prayers are needed. Just wanted to remind everyone to give a praise once in a while, especially if it's an update on a prayer request! I love to hear how prayers are answered and all to often we forget to update when the news is good! Hope no one minds my suggesting this....just thought praises once in a while would be uplifting and reassuring for us.

Prayers are needed for the grandson of the people I work part time for. If his new medicine doesn't start working by today, the doctor is calling for a biopsy. His name is Ryan and he just turned 3 in March. He has been sick off & on all winter and this last bout they were calling a virus, but it's been going on too long now.
Thanks,

This morning I asked for prayer for my DH since I was leaving him home for the day and was worried about him being sick. That message is now on the new chat page, but I think I should update here....
DH is doing o.k., didn't get sicker anyway. What did happen was that he heard that his dear friend, the former principal of his school, lost his battle with cancer last night. Please be keeping my DH in your prayers, he's taking this really hard.
Thanks,

Hi, everyone,
Seems strange that I'm seeing no posting since 4:00.....my computer maybe!!??? It's been giving me fits....e-mail problems big time!

I'm asking for prayers for my uncle...his name is Harvey Rund. He was diagnoised with a form of Leukemia and went down so very quickly we all are stunned. It was found only a month ago....his back was hurting. The tumors were already in the bones....his bones are just breaking and cracking, broken pelvis, 4 broken vertebra. He hadn't been told how bad it was. He's been thinking he'd have chemo and be fine. The doctors will tell him tomorrow that he has almost no time left. We feel so sad, he is in his late 50's, my aunt (my Mom's youngest sister) is in shock! I talked to her tonight and for right now she's trying to help him in every way she can. I wish for you to pray for him to be relieved of some pain and be able to pass this world a little more easily. We know he has to leave we only want it to be as soft as possible. I know you will help here and for that I thank you.

Subject: THANKS & HUGS TO ALL THE BBers
E-mail Address: mwallis@dryden,net

Hi everyone. It is me, Maggie Meadowmouse, finally near a computer again (on borrowed one in T.Bay).

Wow, a new site! I think that this is the appropriate one for me to use for this letter.

We are still in Thunder Bay, 220 miles from home but Wayne, my DH, has now been moved near the Cancer Centre and begun treatment (36 radiation treatments to his head and some heavy chemo also)a couple of days ago. He is part of a study group run out of the Mayo Clinic and may have a better chance at servival with the experiment. He says if nothing else, this may help some one else who has the same type of brain tumor.

We are staying next door to the cancer centre in a place called Amethyst House which is for people from out of town to stay while receiving treatments. It is very home-like and can accomodate 16 people. I get to make meals for everyone this week so that should be fun. There is a common kitchen there and it is of course easier for someone who isn't doing treatment to do the cooking. I am also working on DH's fishing quilt in the spare hours.

He is doing quite well inspite of everything and we remain hopeful that he will get better. Right now, we are hoping that he will be well enough to travel back home to Dryden the weekend after next. We haven't been there for 5 weeks now and all has changed with spring. I do hear that my favorite chipmunk made it through the winter and is taking care of the yard for us. Can't wait to see him again.

A friend arrived yesterday from home and brought me a huge stack of mail (4 1/2 weeks worth)! Inside, to my shock, the bag was filled with envelopes containing fabric cards, fat quarters, get well cards and marvelous stamps from all over the place! I took them over to my DH's bed, sat there, opened them and read all those wonderful, prayers and get well wishes to him. I had to stop many times as the emotion was so great. We both cried lots but they were not tears of sadness. Instead we were in awe that so many of you took the time out of your busy lives and own troubles to do this
for us. We were looking for prayers but this was overwhelming!! My DH also loved all the wonderful stamps which he will be adding to his collection when he gets well enough.

We really don't know how to say a thank you to all of you that would express what we felt. I do know that I have something special that I will send those of you who put return addresses on your packages. This will have to wait until we are finished here and can go home for a few weeks, aprox. the last week in June I think. I will also have to make something truely special with all the fabrics to commemorate what you have done. Saying "Thank you" doesn't begin to express what we feel.

I have been away from the BB for so long that I don't know how everyone is doing anymore. I won't have access to a computer for a while again either so would like to say am still praying for Janet & DH, Kitty Kate, and Marilyn. Hope things are getting better for each of you. Will try and catch up after we are stationed at home again.

I would like to thank the following people for being so kind to us:

Grace, ON Linda, UK Marie, MD
Meredith, AB Peggy, IA Lois, NC
Amanda, CA Sue, CA Debbie, OR
Kitty Kate, WA Karen, KS Susan, KS
Janet, IN Ronna, MA Jenny, NY
Marge, MI Kim, TX Mayme, MI
Beth, OH Gay, OH Monica, Maine

Well, I think that I have written a book so will close for now. I would like to add my prayers to everyone in need and wish i was at home right now so I could continue with the card showers and block building for others. It seems like a long time has passed since we were home. Another 7 weeks to go. Then I will play catch up on the BB and get back at the y2k exchange.

Please continue the prayers as they are much appreciated and give us strenth to fight harder. I believe that if anyone can make it through this terrible brain cancer, my DH will!

Hugs and tears of gratitude to you all.

Maggie Meadow Mouse

Hi to all! Have not had time to post here as yet..my bio will follow at a later date..when I have had time to think..takes a lot of effort to do that sometimes.LOL.as I was reading the BB, someone there stated it is and I quote "almost back to normal". I wonder what normal means nowadays. As I typed out a message I kept saying to myself, is this "normal"..hope anything I say will be acceptable here, if not, then scroll, baby, scroll...Has Kellie told us the name of her Kitty yet? He is a cutie...he will soon rule the house, you know! I have decide at the young age of 60, that things will have to change for me..At the last meeting for the ABC quilters, one of the Ladies said some thing that didn't sit well with me (she is always making little digs at me, you know the kind?) Well I finally told her to stop making remarks about me, and she promptly left the meeting for the day...I was really tired of turning the other cheek so to speak with this lady..so, what do you all think? Was I wrong or should I let her keep running her mouth..So far, friends have said I finally did the right thing. Well, finally got that out of my system..this is a good sounding board and lots of good listeners...Thanks Sue and Eric..Mary on Cape Cod where the garden is looking great!

When we were all doing our bio's I neglected to say I was a little on the fluffly side and here is the reason.
My diet solution and it has kept me very happy.
" I never eat more than 500 calories per day, but I do borrow some from the next day, keeping a strict record, and by now have recorded the 29th of May in the year 2989. " So there, I'm having a good time and FFFFFFEEEEELLLIIIIIINGGGGGGGGG good.

First to SHIRLEY IN CA: My thoughts and prayers are with you and your DH. I know you need help now to get through this....you have it!!!

I love it here!!! Can I do a little dance?!? I know sooo many of you have heard about my DD's quilt, just a little lap quilt.....hand pieced...only 6 actual blocks. Each block has 60 pieces! Then the sashings and all, I thought it would never get this far. I would have started the quilting (yes, hand quilting) but when I went to get the fabric to back it and bind it...THEY DID"T HAVE ANYMORE!!! Geez, I finally got there and they stopped me big time!!! It will get finished!! DD just loves it, she says it's ok that she has to wait longer, she knows I'll get it done. I just hope it's in this lifetime! LOL

DS went to the prom tonight...he looked sooo handsome...brag, brag!! DD thought he was looking very good too. DH says he did good when he had his son. (Don't ask about his 'DD', he thinks she's 'Miss America', of course if you ask me I'd agree). We all like DS's new girlfriend....general comments were 'she's a keeper'. Unfortunately DS goes off to college in the fall and we know that could end it all. He'll only be about an hour away though...DD is at the same school and absolutely thrilled her brother is going there. Nice to have kids who love each other and don't care who knows it.

Quilt question......that is allowed right? Well, if not just skip this part. I know that you can get a flannel board (or something) and put your pieces on it to see how your quilt would look. I wonder if 'felt' works. I thought it would be less money to buy some felt and staple it to the wall and use it that way. Would that work???? I want to get my Y2K started. DD and I were sorting squares today.....lots of darks. I was really surprised at the doubles and triples I had, especially after so many of you commented about having NO repeats. Karen thinks I might have to start trading again if I don't want repeats. No sure I really care about that.

Do all you hand piecers mark 1/4" lines on every piece???

Anyone trying to e-mail me, please be patient with me...our e-maail is messed up and I have to go through so many things to get stuff out. I don't mind that but I DO SCREW IT UP!!!! Hopefully it will be back to normal soon.

My Mom is doing even better today. Her sense of humor is back, too. Said it was such a beautiful day outside, that she thought someone ought to come and take her to the beach. She's up and around using the walker and they plan to send her to the rehab unit in the next day or two. I told her that the ladies on the internet were praying for her, and she was quite pleased. She's never used a computer or even seen anything on the internet, so she's fascinated with it.

Since I did the Snoopy dance twice this week, I now have no excuse to keep me from starting the quilting on the wedding gift quilt. Guess I'll put it on the frame and start quilting REALLY FAST. At least the dining room now looks like there's a table in the middle of it, and I can actually see the floor in the sewing room.

I've had this song (well, ok, only 2 lines or so of it...all my poor brain can remember so far. LOL!)
going thru my mind for a couple of days now. Couldn't figure out why until I came back here again just now & BAM! It's from the name Eric &
Sue gave this section.
And some how these lines seem appropriate to
the people who come here. It's an old John Denver song....
"To talk about Poems & Prayers & Promises,
And things that we believe in...."

The rest of it eludes me just now but maybe i'll dig out the album...or does anyone else remember it?

Well, time to take my gardening aches to bed. Got lots more to do tomorrow!

Remember that morning Ridgeley wrote,"AND THE WINNER IS..."? Well, when she said she was sending a box of "GOODIES", she wasn't kidding !!
The box arrived a few minutes ago and I'm shocked at how much is in it and how fast it got here !!
All you chocoholics would die for the contents, about a dozen or more different kinds of bars and boxes of chocolate candy and about six different kinds of packaged cookies and lots of them have chocolate on 'em, in 'em and around 'em!!

Ridge, the tablecloth,( white cutwork with embroidered floral designs in two shades of precious pink and two beautiful shades of green, for the leaves,) is absolutely gorgeous and I love it !!
The stein is precious too, but I hope it's for decoration, as I'm probably the only "Pedigreed Polack", that hates beer!

I don't mean to make you all jealous, but I knew you'd all want to know what you missed out,on!!
Thank you Ridgeley, for the wonderful gift from your heart,I certainly never expected to receive anything so sweet, for my small part in your monumental project. It was such a wonderful thing you did for
those unfortunate Bosnian,"Baby Angels", God will certainly bless you!!

Thanks again, with love,

Hi there everyone!
Have been away from the BB so long that when i went to it today i found a whole new area. One that i very much need today. Our 'puter was down for awhile, then i became very ill again, so more time away. The Dr.'s ok'd for me to travel with my DH to Big Bear last weekend as long as i promised to rest and take it easy, which i did. Slept in front of the fireplace most of the day and was in bed by 8:30 every nite. Was just able to get back into a little of my routine at a time. Yesterday morning DH collapsed with a heart attack. Am tired, tearful, but full of thankful prayers that he made it thru the nite. Will be going back to the hospital shortly. Now is when i miss having family close by. They are all in PA, GA and SC. Thank God for good friends. Am able to use the walker or cane to get around so i get tired out very easily. Dr. doesn't know yet how much damage there may be to the heart. His pulse rate is below 50, with a lot of spiking T waves and what all. So please keep Tim and i in prayers.
Marty; glad to hear your sister is doing better. Haven't chatted wth you for a long time. Take care.

HI all, I love this page! and all of you of course. Want to send hugs and prayers to all that have shared her and to all who need that dont post much.
It's been a frustrating couple of weeks for me. Both computers at home are down. ;( I miss IM every Wednesday morning and I cant read the board at home. I am trying very hard to keep up here at work, but you know how it is. They always seem to be a little perturbed when they find you surfing. I tried telling my boss that it was my community service project. lol He didnt buy it. Oh well, DH promises that he will work on the puters again this weekend. Hopefully he will get at least one of them running.

Marilyn - I am so happy that things seem to be going well for you. I think about you all the time and you are in my daily prayers.
Marty - You sure are one special sister, you have reminded me to tell my one and only sister howmuch I love her.
Kitty Kate - I love you, You are totally an inspiration to me. I pray every day the God will get sick of hearing us and will bring to you total and complete healing. I would love it if you could include me in your prayer chain and I would also love to hear more about the B-day squishies club.
Celia - Great to hear from you again. Where have you been girl? This place isnt the same without our Celia's stories. Wlecome back.

Last but not least..I want to do something that is very hard for me to do. I want to solicite your prayers for me this week. I am having surgery on Wednesday. With any luck it will be done laproscopicly (sp?) but could possibly require a full incision (sp?). I am really not looking forward to this andabsolutely cannot afford the extra four weeks off of work. For some reason I just dont feel comfortable with this one. Anyway you are all such a caring group, I hope you dont mind me adding my cares and woes here too.

On the upside, if DH does get a puter working, I will be able to spend more time reading and talking with all my cyber friends on IM. (staying on my knees and keeping my fingers crossed for that one) ;-)

Oh,on more thing. The Bio....I have been stalling and stalling on this. Kept thinking all through my Y2K swap that I should write one, now we are doing it here too. Guess maybe that's a sign..lol I will try to get one written this weekend...yadda yadda and the checks in the mail right?
Well, back to work. Love you guys!

Kim (aka)berlysue38 in Michigan where we are having the most incredible weather! 80 and sunny today..leaves bursting out everywhere and daffodils, tulips, hyestnth(sp? i know that ones wrong lol) flowering trees everywhere...what a wonderful world we live in.

May I just say that my problems seem kinda lame next to those whose kids have bombs at their schools or whose co-workers are going through health problems. I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. And sending huge hugs to whoever is in need of them!

On another note - I loved the new pictures on Kellie's and Andy's page. The kitten is too cute - makes me want to get another one! I am constantly amazed at the talent the quilters on this board have. The blocks for Monica are so beautiful. Each one looks fabulous and there are some blocks that I've never seen before.

Thanks again everyone for your kind words and thoughts - you all made my day/week/month - oh well you get the picture.

Hi All!

Thank goodness for the BB or I'd have no place to really write about this. One of my co-workers, and friend of the family, is having the worst year of which I've ever heard. First of the school year he was diagnosed with cancer and fought it. Then it was heart trouble, but he got it under control. A little over a month ago his daughter was murdered and he found out his cancer is back and more agressive than ever. To add to all this, his wife died suddenly last saturday! With all that has happened to him I'm afraid he's just not going to have the strength to keep waking up every morning. I want to let him know I care, to let him know he's not alone (it's now just him and a college age son), and so I've started a quilt. I want to get this to him as soon as I can so I'm screwing up my courage and swallowing my pride and asking if anyone might be willing to send an extra block they might have to help fill out the quilt. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a 'test' block or left over from another project that I'll work together into a sampler. Please e-mail me over the weekend if you have any ideas or to get my snail addy. I'm going to go sew something because it's all I know what to do right now...

Thanks in advance,

Just got back to the KC area after spending two days at my Mom's bedside. She had surgery on Wedesday to "remove a couple little growths" that were actually large tumors on her bladder and had that repositioned while they were in there. I was lead to believe by her that it was just a short 1-2 hour operation. Started at 9 am--I got to see her in her room after 5 pm. She didn't want to "worry us". Mothers can sometimes be a trial. Yes, I am a mother but not like mine is at times! She "was going home tonight" when I took her in. Well, she was still there when I left last night. I could use a little help in the patience area, and she could certainly use help in the recover area. I told her I was a grown up woman (almost 50) and I was certain I could make up my mind on who and what I wanted to worry about without her guidance. I'm sorry I was so worried and scared for several hours. I was alone in the waiting room as Dad went to work becase "it's not a big deal". The reason for that one was "Dad does't like hospitals, and I'll be fine by myself." I love them to death but they certainly try my patience. My sister didn't know anymore than I did before I talked to the doctor. I'm sorry this is so long. Thanks for listeneing.

Hello,

Just a quick note to say thank you to everyone who said a prayer for our school. Everyone is allright, but they said that 3 bombs were found and safely removed. There may have been half of the kids that didn't come to school on Thursday. Please continue to pray for all of our schools nationwide, it seems to be an epidemic everywhere. It used to be that toward the end of school, we were worried about the fights that would break out and now it has gone to this. It is appalling and very sad that our children have come to this way of dealing with their anger.

I haven't had time to read much but will get caught up tomorrow and will try to submit a BIO I guess.... maybe...etc.

Hope everyone has a safe week-end.Remove *** to reply.

MARILYN had her first really good night's sleep in her own bed last night and looked and feels much better today! Even has some color today...I was so pleased when I saw her this morning.
My older sister, Norma, and my Dad were both at Marilyn's by 9:30 a.m. and Norma phoned me and asked if I go up and play cards with them! My Dad loves to get together with us to play cards (a game called "500" where you bid and use joker, and both jacks of the suit you bid in). Anyway, I of course said OK and went right up and we played for two hours until Marilyn started to look tired. Dad & Norma left but I stayed to fix Marilyn some lunch and be with her until her DH got back from the BIG CITY with prescriptions and few groceries. I will only give you UP-DATES now once in a while unless there is a sudden big change. Just know that she is very happy to be home again. Her house is situated on a steep up-grade and she has a large picture window where she can look down upon the whole tiny village of Bakersfield and has a bird feeder and can watch the birds, even deer and moose sometime come out into her yard. Much better view than at a hospital...agreed???!!! Maybe I will give the Up-Dates on Sundays.
JULIE G. IN WA: I received a very nice squishie in today's mail. Thank you so much.
When the person who has the Paducah Pictures Round Robin just ahead of me please notify me when you are sending them on please. Then I will know when to look for them. I think I am #5 on the list. TIA

My Mom had a big setback yesterday and they wouldn't let her come home from the hospital. By last night she had to have help just to get out of bed. When I talked to her last night, she sounded normal, but my sister was there at the time and said that she was having one of her good moments. This is so sad to see. She was a doctor and kept up with her medicine until about 10 years ago...doing rounds at the hospital periodically to keep her license up.
My Dad is still trying to keep his chin up, but he says "I miss my woman". He's almost 89 and not in the best of health either.
We planned to go down there (California) next weekend for Mothers Day even before this happened. Unfortunately, it will have to be a very short visit, but at least we'll be able to go.
Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. It's wonderful to have the kind of friends who listen and care.

Hello everyone,

I have a special prayer request from all of my friends on the BB. Our High School had a bomb threat written on the bathroom wall about 4 or 5 days ago. It has been very stressful for all at the high school. The police and fire departments have checked the building twice a day ever since the threat was made. It is due to go off Thursday at noon in a certain wing of the school. So please say your prayers for our High School and the students, teachers, and staff that will be at the school tomorrow. They are calling a fire drill before the time and will check the building out before anyone is allowed to re-enter. I want to keep my son at home because he is going to be in that wing first period. He does not want to miss school though, he is only there for about 3 1/2 hrs, but I am worried. Please say prayers for us thank you. Remove the *** if you want to reply.

Keep on quilting,

I spoke to Marilyn about 1-1/2 hours ago and she said he was picking up her medication at the hospital pharmacy and then they will be on their way home. She is STILL speaking in a whisper, so I didn't talk to her long. PRAISE GOD!! Thank you all for your prayers.

Thanks, Sue and Eric, for taking the time to give us a "community". Don't know about anyone else, but for a few days there, it seemed like a different bulletin board with ONLY quilt stuff on it...I missed the sense of community which has developed here and really appreciate this new board. I immediately thought of Ridgely this morning when I heard about the Apache that crashed in Albania on a training flight, and prayed for her husband, and all others in harms way...Thanks to this board, things like wars are no longer impersonal. The less impersonal they become, the fewer we'll have, at least I think so.

Subject: MARILYN UP-DATE...THANK YOU SUE & ERIC!!

SUE & ERIC: Thank you for this special page. I was really hoping for something like this...I really didn't know HOW to handle the situation. YOU TWO are wonderful people...God Bless you, and I hope you are over the flu by now.
MARILYN may be coming HOME (not to the hospital here) tomorrow or the next day. Can't BELIEVE the change in her. Her heart does not beat by itself but at least she has the attachments that do it for her and HOPEFULLY she may be able to get on this way without having to have the transplant. Talked to her DH this afternoon but Marilyn was sleeping. George sounded in better spirit...up til today he sounded so forlorn and worried. I can't wait to HUG them both again! Only two weeks in Boston but it seems like much longer than that. I will go to their home and put some fresh stuff in their refrigerator and get lots of fresh fruit for them in the morning. Don't know if she will need a special diet for a while or not.
ANONYMOUS PERSON: Just want to say that Judy of Ohio was NOT the annymous poster this time. I know who it is but don't want to mention names. Let's just forget it all and go on happily from now on...
MONICA: Can hardly wait for Andy to up-date the Snoopy site with Marilyn's Blocks and with the pictures taken at the Quilt Shows, etc.
CAROL OF WANTAGE, NJ: Please E-Mail me privately. I tried to send you a message, and it bounced back. Guess I don't have it typed right.
CELIA: Haven't heard from you...are you OK? The Fund has $1,412. in it now!!!
RAFFLE QUILT: I have ordered the raffle tickets made up for the quilt. $1.00 per chance, $5.00 for 6 chances. Anyone who would like a chance of that quilt, I will send you tickets when I receive your money. Drawing will be on Labor Day weekend...Sept. 5th at our Firemen's Annual Chicken Bar-B-Q.
Must get to bed now.
Thanks again Sue & Eric!!

Would appreciate a prayer for my mother as she continues her chemotherapy for breast cancer, Stage IV. She's 76 years old and about to start her 8th month of chemo. Thank you.

Thanks to Sue and Eric for this new page!

Thanks, Sue and Eric, for the new page.
I guess I'm the first one to ask for prayers on it. My mom who is almost 90 had a stroke last night. She is alert and able to move, but has some thought process problems (putting stockings on after shoes, etc). Her speech is also not affected. She had a larger stroke about 3 years ago but has made a remarkable recovery. The doctors say if she does well over the next couple of days and has no further episodes, they will let her go home.

I would like to thank KittyKate and anyone else that has been praying for me and my family and the adoption we are pursuing. The birthmom finally signed the papers and we are finally on our way!!! I'm sorry I couldn't email personally but my husband accidentally deleted my address book when he switched computers.
