Tulip & Star Quilt

This quilt was made from 2 small bundles of factory sheet scraps. One was printed in a border pattern, and the other in a Spanish bluebells pattern. I had barely enough fabric and spent a long time "juggling" before finally cutting out the pieces. The grey/green material used in the border and for the applique leaves came (you guessed it!) from my cupboard.
The arrangement of some of the border print and floral patterns is shown in this detail, as well as the applique and embroidery which embellish the quilt. I later used this quilt as a springboard for another project for my beginner students.
