Entirely hand pieced and hand quilted, this is a small quilt made using scraps from my cupboard, and liberty print pieces brought back from the U. S. for our sewing group by one of our members . The backing and self binding were salvaged from the best part of a no longer needed cotton mattress cover. The quilt was made for the 1997 Stitches Gallery Needlework Exhibition in St. Helens, and was part of a thematic display about the sea. Stitches Gallery is set up in the Town Hall every Easter by our sewing group, the St. Helens Stitchers. |
