Her first book, Faces &Places-Images In Applique published by C&T Publishing was released in the Fall of 1995. It explains her unique techniques for layering to obtain a shaded and dimensional look.

As to her teaching, Charlotte encourages students to sift through her techniques, using them to draw out visions and creativity. She hopes to help them express their own personal concepts and to realize that quiltmaking is a viable art form.
