Construction Project

No doubt those of you who have been faithful readers of the AfterChat Newsletter celebrate with me in the near completion of the dreaded addition. After only 18 months we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and are almost sure it isn't an oncoming train. Below are some digital images you might enjoy. Mom can move in any time!

Yes, it's a pink sofa. Mother and I smile every time we see it. Sometimes we giggle out loud.
And this is the YELLOW chaise...
See how well the chair and ottoman match the sofa and chaise? Interesting thing is, I actually have quilts that match the furniture!
The new lamp shows off my thread collection quite well. Don't do this to YOUR lamp until you check with an electrician first. Not all lamps can be stuffed.
 Pretty thread.....
The dragon at the top of the stairs.
The infamous porthole---what better way to cover the opening to a 17 inch sewer pipe that is really a clothes chute?!
See, it opens too!
Mother wanted a bidet in her bathroom, so we put in a bidet. Whatever floats her boat! (See her boat floating?)
Here's what my Design Wall looks like. Actually it's a Design Cupboard. There is a fire place, mantle, and some really ugly brick behind it that Steve said I could cover up with cabinets when I moved my studio into the living room. That's a quilt in progress that may get done some time in the NEXT millennium, but don't hold your breath.
You can see the quilt a little better in this picture. I'm trying to decide if it's too cluttered. It certainly isn't too BRIGHT! Kind of reminds me of some furniture......
Behind the Design Wall doors is where I hide my STASH. As you can see, I don't have nearly enough fabric. (I'm just lucky I can still get the doors closed, right?) On the "back" side of the doors is more flannel for more auditioning of patches and layouts.

Opposite the Design Wall is a full length mirror (not pictured because I was in my jammies when I took this photo) so I can see the quilts I'm working on from "far away." No, this wasn't planned. Just a happy coincidence that the front hall closet had mirrored bi-fold doors and was strategically placed opposite the fire place, er, Design Wall.

Started playing around with the quilt on Design Wall... Do you like this open one better? Let me know if you have a preference. It's not like I'm going to get to it any time soon, but if you feel strongly, now's your chance!
